Demonstrating Milestone's advanced expertise in the extraction of construction data from decades old proprietary database systems, we worked on a multiyear project to transform and migrate the data of one of the country's oldest civil contractors. By partnering with the client's IT group, Milestone extracted and migrated years of financial construction and equipment performance data into a CMiC on premise environment that preserved years of historical performance of projects and rolling stock assets.

Milestone worked with a global specialty electrical contractor to plan manage and execute a full detail migration from Viewpoint ProContractor to CMiC Public Cloud. The migration entailed the transformation of data from a single company with multiple divisions in ProContractor to a multi company/multi-currency CMiC instance with exchange rate transformation to five currencies. The migration featured a heavy emphasis on Purchasing including three-way matching and worldwide supply chain coordination.

Over the course of three years, Milestone worked with a top 10 ENR general contractor to plan, manage and migrate a large volume of data from multiple systems including Computer Guidance (CGC), Primavera Expedition and a custom-built CRM system. The scope was a full detail migration with multiple test cycles and a validation strategy that included custom SQL and reporting development to assist in automating the enormous validation effort. The highly detailed CRM system that had been in place for many years, required significant mapping and customization of CMiC to move the valuable business development data without the loss of the detailed sales process history.

Engaged in the last months of a multiyear implementation, Milestone managed the data migration for a mechanical contractor transitioning from Microsoft Great Plains to Microsoft D365. The intensive conversion included General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Job Cost, Inventory and Service modules. The Supply chain and field Service components of the migration were significant including the incorporation of data from an integrated Ecommerce component.

Moving from a sunsetting legacy application, this client engaged Milestone to extract, transform and load the proprietary system data to Viewpoint Vista. The project involved the development of custom programming to extract the encrypted data from a decades old legacy database. This project highlighted Milestones abilities to extract and interpret construction data from a wide range of sources and applications that most general migration consultants and software vendors will not attempt.

After assisting with the software selection, Milestone was chosen to migrate the client's data from a legacy Viewpoint application to Explorer Contract Manager. This migration consisted of a complex data transformation that included a new general ledger structure, complex equipment functionality and a redesigned job cost structure. Milestone worked with client to assist in the design and configuration of the system in parallel with the data migration as well as assisting with the development of new custom reports to capitalize on the enhanced system configuration.

Following the implementation of CMiC by a heavy civil construction company, Milestone's client decided to retain a highly functional third-party vendor compliance application and integrate it with CMiC. The compliance application was out of support and with no documentation describing the behavior, use or the data schema. Milestone undertook the integration by approaching the design and development of the program with a "black box" approach, documenting the input and output behavior of the application to mesh it with CMiC's built in vendor compliance functionality. After several months of work, Milestone had the application integrated with CMiC with the users spared the need to learn a new application or sacrifice the deep functionality of the familiar third-party application.

A Milestone client with a customized shop time and work order application designed to collect time, work order scheduling and task monitoring asked MSG to build an integration with CMiC that would allow an extensive multi shop maintenance division to communicate with CMiC's payroll and work order functionality. The integration allowed our client to maintain the familiar user interface and barcoding functionality their maintenance team had come to rely on. Milestone's integration solution included the output of work order documents with barcoding that facilitated the collection of time and progress without changing the user interface that shop personnel were accustomed to using, thus not interrupting the efficiency of the organization while simultaneously providing CMiC with the data necessary for the tracking, costing and billing of maintenance activities.

Working with a Canadian general contractor, Milestone was engaged to manage and execute a full conversion from a Sage 300 (Timberline) system with multiple companies, Provincial Sales Tax and GST to a CMiC on premise environment. The conversion involved the transformation of complex Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions with Canadian tax rule nuances. The multi-company migration entailed the management of the project after a significant client internal team change out during a multiyear implementation.

Working with one of CMiC's smaller and rapidly growing clients, Milestone successfully migrated the data into CMIC Public Cloud from Computer Guidance (CGC). This was one of Milestone's smaller clients, though the staff was exceptionally competent and eager to advance the management tools of their growing business. This resulted in a very successful Go Live and a CMiC user that embraces continuous improvement, always seeking to adopt CMiC's ever evolving functionality. This client was a model use case of a smaller company making the technology leap necessary to take on bigger and more complex projects.
